Character Name: Nora
Unit: Canis (Blue)
Description of powers:
Most of the magic in Nora's canon is a form of elemental magic. For the most part, it takes spells to cast any of the magic, though when in demon form or when using a soul weapon, magic can be cast without the use of spells. It takes time and training to learn to control one's magic, and apparently magic grows as one gets older. For this reason, most demons learn to control their magic from a very young age. Nora got as far as keeping himself from exploding, and then decided he liked to blow things up instead. He knows a certain number of spells, which can do a lot of damage, but generally they would do more if he'd bothered to study.
Nora's two-colored eyes also means that he can 'see' certain things not visible to others. So far, we know he can identify pieces of the Dark Liege's soul, though no one else can. Once he knows what to look for, Nora can see magical energy flowing from, to, and around people, and often can see the source of someone's abilities, particularly if it's not something the person was born with. However, this takes a LOT of concentration and usually makes his head hurt.
Also, if Nora is concentrating on something, such as a physical fight, he will begin to fight better within moments. When he concentrates, he does actually learn faster and can pick things up quickly. However, you can't set him in front of a book and expect him to understand it. He learns through action and doing things, so he'll pick certain things up really quickly, and other things not at all.
In demon-form, if his limit is broken, he begins to leech energy and magic from anything and everything close to him. Canon hasn't revealed whether he can do this otherwise.
Strength/Extent of powers:
Nora is kind of insanely powerful. HOWEVER, because he hasn't bothered to train/hone his skills, most of his spells are on par with someone a third of his strength or less. He is possibly the only demon strong enough to be able to cast without really knowing what he's doing, but it cuts down on the strength of his spells. Also, because he is going to be mostly in human form, he won't be able to cast any spells at all without permission. If the Judges allow him to transform, he will then be able to cast whatever he wants, because at that point it becomes instinctual.
The ability to 'see' things is natural, though some things take more concentration than others. For now, he will largely be unable to see anything special. He will still be able to pick certain things up quickly, but this will mostly be limited to fighting.
Innate:
* 'Seeing' things, though concentration is needed for certain types of things, and he may not always know what it is he's seeing.
* The magic itself is innate, but because he is in human form, he'll have to know spells in order to use it. The ability to transform is innate.
* The ability to learn certain things quickly is innate. In fact, he won't even realize he's doing it, and would probably think people are stupid if they mentioned it.
* The limit break leeching ability is innate, but only under very specific circumstances, unless canon changes this.
Memory related:
* Largely, he'll have to know certain things before he can 'see' someone's magical energy.
* The actual spells. So anything he does while in human form.
* Making his soul weapon. ...Which is also a spell.
* Being able to control his magic well enough to not destroy himself
Relation to memory:
'Seeing' things like magical energy will require knowledge of how to LOOK for magical ability. The spells and ability to control magic are both things he was trained in, so any abilities in that regard will require memories before he can use them.
