Point in the time-line taken: Between the fifth and sixth book

Character History:
As the Cerberus, Nora is the dog of disaster and the one destined to destroy the world. There is only one Cerberus alive at any time. Therefore, his power is highly prized and sought after, and very few people care about him, instead caring about his power and what they can do with it.

Nora was raised in a secure facility in the Netherworld. Taken in as an infant by the Dark Liege, his various babysitters have been attempting to teach him control and usage of his power since he was a child. Only the top military leaders and the Dark Liege herself knew of Nora's existence at all. Instead of learning, though, Nora generally rebelled against most of the attempts at education. This was, in no small part, because he is one of the only characters powerful enough to cast spells without training. Unfortunately, while he didn't realize it at first, the lack of training directly effects how much power goes into the spells, so his spells are on level with some other demons, despite the difference in power.

Finally, the Dark Liege got tired of him causing a ruckus and sent him to Earth. There, he was forced to become a human's familiar. At first, he rebels against the human, Kazuma, and does everything he can to break the contract. Eventually, after fighting a great many demons, Nora discovers that Kazuma is actually helping him become stronger, and Nora begins learning from Kazuma. Thus begins their unstable truce, and Nora comes to rely on Kazuma not just as the master of his magic, but as a friend and companion.

In canon, Nora is forced to wear a dog collar, which gives his magic over to another person (Kazuma) and forces him to retain a completely human body. It also keeps him from using any magic without permission. The holder of his magic has to approve or deny any magic, and can in fact also deny physical or verbal actions, simply by saying "I forbid." This also serves as a seal, keeping his magic from going out of control, as it is wont to do without training. While he ignored most of the higher learning, Nora was forced to learn to control his magical flow and was kept in large part under a partial sealing spell. Without the collar or the training to control his power, Nora would... Probably explode. Messily.

Canon Personality:
Nora is brash, obnoxious, and annoying. He desperately wants to be acknowledged, not as the Cerberus, but as a powerful demon in his own right. Unfortunately, what most people see when they look at him is a powerhouse of magic that they can use for their own benefit.

Nora despises learning and conventional education. This is largely because he's never learning for himself, but because others expect and want him to, so that they can take advantage of his power and strength. But also, Nora is just not particularly bright. He's supposed to be the incarnation of chaos in his world, and the order and logic of education and thinking ahead is just not chaotic enough for him to be able to grasp it. He prefers to rush in guns drawn and fire at anything that moves (metaphorically) than to sit back and plan it out to guarantee a win.

However, despite all this he does recognize that he has flaws and weaknesses. Eventually. Generally only to people he really trusts, and only under severe circumstances. He puts up a tough front, largely to hide his desperate insecurities, including the fact that he knows nothing of his family or what he is meant to do in life.

Blank Personality:
In canon, Nora deals with things he doesn't know/doesn't remember by pretending not to give a shit, putting up a protective front, and generally shutting off from whatever it is that he doesn't remember. We see this when people try to talk to him about his family/parents/the previous Cerberus. Also, it is well-established that the boy has several 'dog-like' instincts, including territory-marking and burying his food.

Therefore, as a Blank Nora would revert to protecting himself in any way he knows how. Largely, this will involve keeping his private matters private, and not letting anyone see him when he's at his weakest. Though he will eventually come to trust his teammates, his trust will be hard to earn, and he will be more likely to snap at a friendly hand than receive it. He will, in short, be moody as hell.

Nora will still put up a front of being strong, but without knowledge of his true power, he will be most likely to sneak away into the shadows when confronted in a fight he doesn't think he can win. His chaotic nature is likely to rear its head less, as he only seems to let that loose when he's feeling confident in himself, but he's still going to be unpredictable and somewhat rash, particularly as his team earns his loyalty. He will still be stupid and unwilling to learn, but the reasoning behind it will be different. Instead of an unwillingness to be used, Nora will just have a difficult time of it, and lack the patience to keep trying.

Writing Sample:
The room smelled funny. Not wrong. ...Or maybe wrong. The Blank couldn't remember what right smelled like, now that he thought about it. But it still smelled... funny. Looking up, the Blank saw an unfamiliar ceiling. And he was lying on an unfamiliar bed. And...

"Goddammit. What the fuck is going on here?" Sitting up, the Blank took in the room. This wasn't his home. That he was sure of. He was fairly certain that he would have recognized something, if it were his home. Like the scent. That was really bothering him.

He prowled the room, trying to decide what was so wrong with the scent. As near as he could tell, everything smelled like it was supposed to smell. Though he couldn't actually be sure, since he wasn't entirely sure what 'floor' or 'wall' was supposed to smell like. Then he paused. Then he smiled. Then he lowered his pants and marked his room.

"Alright! That's better." He looked around the room again, this time actually noticing what was actually in the room. A moment later the... metal tube thing caught his eye. "The fuck...?"

He sniffed it first, then looked into one end. There was a person inside it. Startled he dropped the thing to the ground and scrambled onto his bed. When the little person didn't come out of the tube he calmed, slightly, and picked the thing back up. Lifting it once more to his eye, he watched as the person on the other side scratched the back of his head and shrugged, before speaking.

"Can't tell you nothing. At least you'll get this off." The figure tugged at the collar the figure was wearing. "I do this willingly."

The Blank set the tube-thing down and, out of curiosity, put his fingers to his neck. There, snug around his neck, was a collar.

"....FUUUUUUUUUUUUCK."
